OT/ICS Cybersecurity Kill Chain video released

Sugar Land, Texas (July 2, 2020) — ThreatGEN, an operational technology (OT) security firm, releases its second video in its Red vs. Blue Academy OT security educational series entitled “OT/ICS Cybersecurity Kill Chain, Technical Demo“. In this video, Pascal Ackerman demonstrates an OT/ICS cybersecurity attack on a control system, from start to finish, through the entire ICS Cybersecurity Kill Chain. While this is an in-depth technical demo, no technical experience or knowledge is required to understand it.

Pascal Ackerman, Director of the ThreatGEN OT Security Services division and author of multiple books, including “Industrial Cybersecurity: Efficiently secure critical infrastructure systems” and “Modern Cybersecurity Practices: Exploring And Implementing Agile Cybersecurity Frameworks and Strategies for Your Organization” explains the new video, “You will be able to follow along with all the steps and techniques involved with compromising an ICS environment, from the Enterprise network down, leveraging a initial foothold by sending a booby-trapped word document that ultimately allows the attacker to manipulate the production process and accomplish the ultimate goal of the ICS cyber attack, disruption of a critical control system.

Why does ThreatGEN teach adversarial methods such as these? Our entire Red vs. Blue philosophy is centered around the premise that in order to formulate a targeted and efficient cyber defense (which also often means cost-effective), you need to understand your adversaries’ methods and strategies.
