Press Release
🎮 ThreatGEN® Red vs. Blue Is Back—And Leveling Up!
ThreatGEN Opens Public BETA for Red vs. Blue® Version 2.0, Inviting Cybersecurity Pros to Join the Game (and Help Build It)

HOUSTON, TX (June 24, 2026) – Six years, 50,000+ users worldwide, and one simple idea: cybersecurity training doesn’t have to be boring. That’s the momentum behind ThreatGEN® Red vs. Blue, and now we’re leveling it up. Today, we’re rolling out the next chapter: Version 2.0, starting with a closed ALPHA program on July 13, 2026, limited to 20 of our most seasoned users, followed by a 100-user BETA launch on August 17. We’ve built an incredible community across STEAM and our earlier Thinkific platform, and this next version is all about bringing them even deeper into the experience.
Clint Bodungen, Founder & CEO of ThreatGEN, shared a peek behind the curtain, “Due to the architecture put in place by Aaron Shbeeb during the development of ThreatGEN® Red vs. Blue version 1.1, the refactoring of Red vs. Blue for version 2.0 has gone incredibly well.”
How to get into the 🚀 ALPHA Testing Program
We’re not pulling names out of a hat here, no. We’re going straight to the pros. Invitations will go out to our most active users on the current STEAM 1.10.2 release, along with administrators from our business, organizational, and educator licenses.
Think you should be on the list but haven’t heard from us yet? Go ahead and make some noise, and email robert@threatgen.com.
Robert C. Rhodes, Head of Business Development at ThreatGEN, puts it this way, “This isn’t one of those beta programs where we toss you a build and hope for the best. We want real input from the people who live in Red vs. Blue day in and day out. The trainers, the teams, the folks pushing it in real environments. If something works, we’ll double down. If it doesn’t, we’ll fix it. Simple as that.”
Grzegorz Piekarski, head of our support group, will be keeping the ALPHA and BETA programs running smoothly, while final selections will be managed by Robert Rhodes.
