Better Outcomes through Iteration with AutoTableTop™

*** UPDATED May 20, 2025 ***

When critical infrastructure like the Municipal Water Authority of Aliquippa (MWAA) faces a cybersecurity incident, the stakes are high. In our latest case study, we explore how ThreatGEN’s AutoTableTop™ incident response exercise simulator empowers teams to improve their incident response capabilities through iterative exercises. Over four sessions, participants tackled simulated attacks targeting a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) responsible for water pressure control.

The teams involved demonstrated measurable improvements in their strategies, from securing firewalls and implementing multi-factor authentication to enhancing public communication plans. By the third exercise, scores peaked at 95/100, showcasing significant progress in technical remediation, stakeholder communication, and overall preparedness. This iterative approach not only strengthened technical defenses but also fostered better integration of operational and cybersecurity responses.

As ThreatGEN has integrated AI into all of our simulations (AutoTableTop™ and Red vs. Blue), we thought it fitting to ask Google’s NotebookLM to review our case study, AutoTableTop™ presentation and our website and provide some commentary on them. Here is what it had to say:
