Audio Settings

Question

Why doesn’t changing the state of audio settings in the game save properly?

Versions:

  • All versions

Answer

There are 3 main audio settings accessible from game settings (using the cogwheel icon from the main menu):

  • SFX volume – changing this slider will affect the volume of all sound effects in the game
  • Music volume – changing this slider will affect the volume of all music in the game
  • Mute – this setting will mute (turn on or off) all sound in the game

Toggling the state of the mute button on the main menu or in the audio settings will globally affect the entire application. You can also change the local, in-game state by toggling the button in game. This setting will not save after you exit the current game, that is not a bug.

This may not be standard industry wide, but this separation was requested by corporate customers.

If you wish to hear the sound in general, but don’t want to hear any this game, turn the setting on in the audio settings menu, but turn it off in-game. Vice versa, if you don’t want to hear the sound in general, but would like to hear the sound this game, turn the setting off in the audio settings menu, but turn it on in-game.
