How do I resolve matchmaking issues?

Question

I cannot see a game created by another player or cannot join their game. What do I do if I have matchmaking issues?

Versions:

  • ThreatGEN® Red vs. Blue (Steam version)
  • Red vs. Blue Professional
  • Red vs. Blue Business & Organization
  • Red vs. Blue Student
  • Red vs. Blue Event
  • Red vs. Blue Enterprise

Answer

Matchmaking issues can arise due to multiple limitations with matchmaking between different versions and license types. These include:

  • Different Versions – Users cannot matchmake between the Steam version and Professional | Business & Organization | Student | Event | Enterprise versions of the game due to vast differences in feature sets. To resolve this issue, you can purchase the license type – for Steam users, purchase the Professional | Business & Organization | Student | Event | Enterprise version matching the user you’re trying to matchmake with.
  • Different Domains – Users with Organization | Student | Event | Enterprise licenses can only make matches with others in the same domain. For example, if you e-mail is user@organization1.com you will be placed in a group with others in organization1.com only; this is due to the default matchmaking lobby privacy settings applied to student / organization licenses (you may request as an administrator of your student / organization group to enable matchmaking between student / organization and individual users, but this will be done only on support request).

If you would like to make such a request or have any issues after following these steps, don’t hesitate to contact our support using our email (support@threatgen.com) or the support form.
