ThreatGEN Announces New Features and Major Upgrades to AutoTableTop™ Platform

Houston, TX (August 8, 2024) – ThreatGEN®, an industry leader in cybersecurity simulation and gamification-based training, today announced significant enhancements to its AutoTableTop™ platform and product features, further solidifying its position at the forefront of incident response (IR) tabletop exercise technology.

We’re excited to introduce these major upgrades to our AutoTableTop™ platform,” said Clint Bodungen, ThreatGEN Founder. “These improvements not only enhance the user experience but also provide more robust, tailored, and insightful tabletop exercises for our clients. We’re committed to continually evolving our products to meet the dynamic needs of the cybersecurity risk management community.

Platform Enhancements

ThreatGEN® has significantly upgraded its AutoTableTop™ platform, enhancing both its infrastructure and user management capabilities to provide a more powerful and user-friendly experience:

Enhanced Cloud-Based Infrastructure and Security: As of August 1, AutoTableTop™ is now hosted on the Microsoft Azure cloud, integrating Azure’s security, LLM compute power, and load balancing for enhanced performance and reliability.

Self-Administration for Group Licensing: The new platform allows for easier management of group licenses, streamlining the process for enterprise clients.

New AutoTableTop™ Features

ThreatGEN® has introduced a suite of powerful new features to AutoTableTop™, further increasing its already unmatched value proposition for cybersecurity risk management teams. These additions not only increase the platform’s versatility and realism but also provide more comprehensive analysis and reporting capabilities:

Integration with participant environment: Users can now provide AutoTableTop™ their incident response plans, playbooks, and network diagrams for more tailored and relevant exercises.

Enhanced Scenario Generation: New options include an upgraded scenario generation system, new customization fields (e.g. – participants, exercise objectives, customized instructions, and more) , and difficulty settings, for more comprehensive, tailored, and realistic simulations.

Comprehensive Exercise Reports: A downloadable Microsoft Word file now provides a complete exercise analysis and report, formatted and ready to submit to management or insurance carriers as proof of exercise participation.

MITRE ATT&CK Framework Integration: Exercise reports now include specific TTP references used by threats, aligned with the MITRE ATT&CK framework.

IR Plan Review: The system now provides a thorough review of the provided IR plan as part of the exercise analysis.

Business Updates and Future Developments

ThreatGEN® has made significant changes to its business model and is planning key developments for the future. The company now offers a 30-day Single Use license, perfect for a comprehensive Proof of Value (PoV) period and shorter engagements. The addition of this new option has proven invaluable to many new customers requiring trial period or a more tiered adoption approach.

Looking ahead, several new features are on the horizon such as the ability to choose from predefined scenarios, enhanced reporting, historical trending and analytics, and the ability to use risk registers and recent threat advisories in scenario generation. ThreatGEN® is also in the process of transitioning its learning management system (LMS) for their online course offerings and ThreatGEN® Red vs. Blue hosting from Thinkific to the new AutoTableTop™ platform. This move aims to consolidate and enhance the user experience across ThreatGEN®’s product offerings, leveraging the robust features and infrastructure of the new AutoTableTop™ platform.
