2023 – What’s New with Red vs. Blue

ThreatGEN® is thrilled to be kicking off another exciting year, and we want to share with you some of the exciting improvements and new developments that you can look forward to in 2023!

First and foremost, we would like to thank each and every one of our customers. You have been instrumental in the platform’s continued improvement and success. We have listened to your valuable feedback, and based on that, 2023 will be chalk full of value-added features.

The Price Value is Right! – Updated Pricing Models for All Budgets

First up on the list is an improved pricing and licensing model. We understand that many budgets are currently constrained for both individuals and businesses worldwide. As a result, we are introducing new pricing models. We will be introducing an “a la carte” pricing structure to our Businesses and Organizations subscriptions, which will allow businesses on a tight budget to continue to leverage the power and value of the ThreatGEN® Red vs. Blue platform.

Additionally, we are adding a “pay what you can” pricing model for the Individual Students and Professionals subscription. This means that you will be able to choose a subscription plan that fits your budget, so you can continue to improve your cybersecurity training and readiness. (Lower tiers pay as you go plans will not include more advanced features and content and will not be available for business and educational institution use.)

Facilitated IR Tabletop Exercises (TTX) as a Service

Not sure how to get started with the ThreatGEN® Red vs. Blue TTX module or want to get some extra TTX bang for your IR bucks? We’ve got you covered! Book a virtual or onsite Red vs. Blue TTX and a certified ThreatGEN professional will facilitate your exercise, maximizing the effectiveness of your exercise with expert guidance, instruction, and analysis. For more information or to book a TTX, visit https://portal.threatgen.com/bundles/ir-tabletop-exercise.

Updated Data Analytics, Dashboards, and Reporting

Successful training and exercises depend on the quality of data and actionable outcomes they produce. We are excited to announce that our data analytics, reports, and dashboards will be receiving a major upgrade in 2023. This includes session and exercise data, historical trending, data analysis and visualization dashboards, and downloadable reports.

Earn CPE Credits Playing ThreatGEN® Red vs. Blue!

Individuals will also be able to take advantage of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits. CPE credits are used to help cybersecurity certificate holders maintain their certification, and ThreatGEN® Red vs. Blue will now provide them through the use of the platform. CPE credits earned will be displayed in your customer dashboard for easy tracking, along with additional details and reporting for easy submission.

A.I. Automated GRC – The New MUST HAVE Risk Management Solution!

One of our most significant developments is the massive upgrade of our red team and blue team A.I. Using a neural network model, we will be able to provide a more sophisticated and advanced adversary simulation. Those of you that are already familiar with the ThreatGEN® Red vs. Blue platform understand the value and effectiveness our advanced adversary A.I. brings to your cybersecurity training and tabletop exercises (TTX). That said, the new A.I. and GRC feature will automate your standards compliance assessment as well as your real-world risk scoring, analysis, and prioritization. Yes, you read that correctly! Automated GRC to save you time, headaches, and money! The new (red team) A.I. will be capable of identifying the most likely attack vectors in your real-world network environment and the (blue team) A.I. will be able to help you determine the most efficient and cost-effective ways to mitigate those risks.

Content is King (or Queen)! – New TTX Scenarios and More

No matter what the use case, all customers can look forward to new and updated content! We will be adding more network maps, representing a variety of industries, as well as regular TTX scenarios as new threats emerge. Our TTX module will also be getting an upgrade that will include more “injects” and the ability for customers to customize their own environment.

Additionally, we are proud to announce that our challenges and labs features will finally be completed, offering students and professionals more fun and exciting ways to enhance their learning experience, and allowing organizations to structure learning content and exercises according to their curriculums and programs.

Official Cybersecurity Esports League

In 2022, we introduced the ThreatGEN® Red vs. Blue Cyber League with an invitational exhibition event. 2023 will kick off the official league, where anyone can sign up and organizations can host and/or sponsor official ThreatGEN® Red vs. Blue Cyber League events. Visit https://esports.threatgen.com/ for more information.

The Steam Version of the Game Will No Longer Be Supported

As we expand the features and capabilities for our professional platform, support for the Steam edition (which is a limited version specifically meant for just playing the Red vs. Blue game) will now come to its end of life (EOL). No further content, features, or updates will be provided for the Steam edition, for the foreseeable future. This was a difficult decision because we absolutely value our Steam community and the feedback you have all provided. However, as it is ThreatGEN’s business model to provide a professional cybersecurity education and risk management platform, this is where our resources and focus need to be moving forward.

We are looking forward to an exciting 2023 and can’t wait to see the results you achieve through the use of ThreatGEN® Red vs. Blue!
